Tooth extraction is performed when the treatment is not effective or the tooth is not reflected in the restoration. In addition, the dentist will advise on prosthetics or implantation at the site of the missing tooth.

When to remove wisdom teeth:

To prevent these problems, third molars are recommended to be removed at the age of 14-16, while the roots are not formed. This procedure can be performed both under local and under general anesthesia(medical sleep). Wisdom teeth may not be removed if you have enough space for them in the mouth and the teeth are erupted completely even and without problems, do not bother and do not cause discomfort.

Surgical methods are also aimed at preserving teeth for which conservative treatment would be ineffective.

Example: resection of the apex of the tooth root, which is performed with poor access to the problematic upper part of the root and when it is necessary to eliminate infections in the apical part.

Tooth-preserving operations include tooth elongation (when the crown part is not high enough to restore its orthopedic structure), hemisection, etc. These interventions are performed in order to preserve the patient's own teeth, but one must remember that there are a number of contraindications, because such teeth may not always carry the full load that a healthy tooth can withstand.

Bone tissue augmentation and preparation for implantation.

One of the conditions for the possibility of implant placement is a sufficient amount of bone tissue. Therefore, implantation should be performed as soon as possible after the loss of the tooth, so that the bone tissue does not have time to atrophy and deform. But, if for some reason the implant cannot be installed immediately, bone augmentation is required, in some cases even sinus lifting (raising the bottom of the maxillary sinus).

Plastic surgery of the upper lip bridle

This method allows you to restore the aesthetic appearance of the central incisors, followed by orthodontic intervention or prevent the formation of diastema (the gap between the central incisors). This type of operation is mainly performed at the age of 7-8 years.
